poem about pigeons

Perched on hope to live

Poem about pigeons

I cast myself away
When with you I could not be
Because the inner me
Only you would see
So alone I spent my days
Shell of empty rays
Protected from the love
A future spoken of
Whispered through the trees
The battered broken dreams
Your face against the pane
Cool touch of nature’s plane
Arm outstretched to give
Perched on hope to live
Pigeons come to play
The seeds bid life to stay
Still all I remember
Are months of December
One day before the first
Flight of all the worst
When you and I were new
Our wings we both outgrew.

Poem about Pigeons | Perched on hope to live | Poem background:

Love poems often tell a love story that can’t be told any other way.

This love poem is about a soulmate suffering cancer and living alone.

He lived alone except for the pigeons who would come every morning and perch on his veranda.

Pigeons loved feeding and I’m sure his spirit was at one with nature’s call.

I imagine him putting his hand to the cold window pane after he scattered food for his pigeons to eat.

Without fail, these birds would appear every morning until the day he died.

He said once,

“I feel at one with the pigeons.”

I wonder if the pigeons look for him now or if they’ve already found a new home.

It is wonderful to take care of God’s creatures. I’m sure that the act of feeding birds whose natural habitat has been replaced by big buildings is a spiritual good deed.

Sometimes acts of kindness can help us to feel less alone and give us the spirit to continue through hardships despite the struggle.

LoveLifeLinks.com believes you can find love through feeding God’s creatures.

Remember, you can feel love. Anywhere. Anytime. All the time.
